July

Jane's quilt made from her husband's shirts, for him.  It looks wonderful.

Rosemary's.  She has matched the blues beautifully.  It's a very striking quilt.

Janet made an awful lot of these sampler blocks using both Lynne Edwards' sampler blooks.  Here are some of them

Another one of Jane's, a very graphic quality and looking great

Jane is hand quilting this, she can't use a hoop at the momen,t and is discovering the joys of quilting using pins or spray glue and no hoop.  I have a big hoop but I also tend to just use pins though I have always used more pins than Jane does - she lives dangerously lol

the following are Steph's workbox pictures - it has a rich quality about it and is another stunner

Steph also made a thread catcher with a dachshund for the weight.

Sian's country garden quilt layered, glued, pinned and ready to consider how to quilt it.  Several people helped Sian cut the wadding, layer everything up and spray and pin it - that's one of the nice things about a group of like-minded people.  It was a hot evening and the floor was nice and cool so another good reason to take shoes off.

We have had new grandchildren over the past couple of years - Rosemary and Elaine have grandsons and Linda and Sheila have a new granddaughter and grandson respectively.  More children to make for - lovely! And their arrival was celebrated by us with cake lol!

June's photos

Jackie's workbox - beautiful fabric; inside is at the top.  It is absolutely stunning.
Jackie made some hexies..and then some more.  Many of these fabrics are from her youth, or her children's clothes, so sentimental in themselves.  She then wondered what to do with them and settled on appliqueing them to calico squares.  But when she put them together it looked a bit bland - lot of white space - so.... off to the hexies again, but tiny ones and then what to do.  She fiddled about and got the main blocks to alternate direction - its quite subtle, but gives a bit of movement and once sewn together she appliqued these tiny beauties at the junction of each block and it just makes it.  These pics do not do it justice; it is beautiful and Jackie should be very proud of herself. Quilting next, and I think she may be waiting for cooler weather!

This is a hexie of a different ilk. It's part of a workbox that some of us are making.  Wendy provided the pattern.  You will see more further on.....

Steph had some cat blocks which she has been paper piecing.  Here she has laid them out on the floor trying to figure out the sashings for an attic window style and also alternate blocks.  Don't think she has come to a conclusion yet!

Lynne has been busy after a long period of being unable to sew....this fab dragon

shirt and shorts for grandson

top for grand daughter

and this fab creation - not sure if its a swim suit or a gym suit (good at gym, that young lady)

little owls on a bobbin tree

Lynne brought in her chatelaine to show

Sian was going to the US for a wedding and these two little pieces were gifts for her hosts, I think

Sian's pretty country garden quilt, little florals, stripes for the fencing, lovely, summer colours

Janet spent ages beautifully appliqueing these butterflies and then livened it up with these great sashings.  They frame each block beautifully

Sian's baby quilt - think it might be a commission.  It's very pretty!

I think this might also be one of Janet's, though Jane has also made one which you will see later on.  Love the animals in the middle of each block.  This is a log cabin variation though I think there may have been a template for it.

May's offerings

This lovely thing is Chris's centre for the Okehampton quilt.  I would have bought that pattern but couldn't; Chris bought it though, along with a couple of others.  Again, I would have chosen those.  When we got home, Janet had bought the identical patterns - just shows how some quilters think alike!
Now this is obviously a baby quilt.  We had 2 new grand babies due and I think this may have been for Sheila's.  Love the fabric used for the front and the back, quite unusual.

Wendy's 2nd star quilt finally finished - hurrah!  She had to get permission to bring it in to show as her son wanted it back lol.

Kim's 365 challenge.  She's done a grand job so far.  Some intricate (and small!) blocks in this one.  I think the first blocks are being taken down but it will be re-run again next year..... http://www.365challenge.com.au/

I am collecting reds for this - well that's my excuse!

Jane made this cherry tree quilt, Janet quilted it.  Very Japanese and minimalist in flavour, don't you think?

Last of the april pics - rather late, sorry.....

All of these are by Janet.  She has a longarm quilting business - why not contact her if you are looking to have your own quilt quilted?  https://www.facebook.com/JS-Longarm-Quilting-462099393983107/
