November so far....

Christine is a machinist through and through!  This is her take on these blocks which have, and are, also being made by Christine, Linda, Chris and Jo - by hand

The white block is the back of one of these.  Spaced out you could have a truly double sided quilt if you wanted.....

Lesley again, hiding behind this lovely quilt.  The hearts are her quilting templates

Lesley's Jelly Roll Race completed

Wilma's fabulous Christmassy piece
Well this doesnt really fit in November except that Lesley is on a roll with these...It is a picture of the completed container shown in the last post.

More October 2012

Last year Jane raffled off one of her old quilts for Breakaway funds.  I was lucky enough to win it.  This year she has put together a selection of blocks either made especially or unwanted by, some of our members.  Here it is ready to be layered up.

Linda made a biscornu using a pattern from a magazine.  She also made the Dorset button in the centre.

Sam's beautiful hand pieced quilt.  She has made a couple using squares only, which you will see if you work your way back through this blog.  This is a disappearing 9 patch and now she is hand quilting lots of tiny little stars over it.

Lesley made this gorgeous container using a piece of soilpipe (clean, of course!) You would never know......

The above pics are of Lesley's Jelly Roll Race, quilted fairly randomly and  now just needs binding.....

October 2012

Wendy's completed star top.  She's got another one to do, now.....

As you can see post it notes are jolly useful in remembering what goes where.

Sheila's Sunbonnet Sue.  Not a good picture of a very pretty quilt.

Christine's I think with a close up of the quilting below

September 2012

Libby and Lesley have been dyeing with one of their other groups.  These are just some of the results - aren't they spectacular?

This one has sneaked into the line-up and Blogger makes it very difficult to move things around on a page, sadly.  I cannot get it to move... However, Dawn has been making good progress on this quilt and as you can see, is quilting into the various patches as she goes along.  It is much prettier in reality!

August 2012

Donna has been making hexagons in the evenings.  Here she is trying out various combinations.
This one is Lesley's- strip pieced
Libby's Ruby Wedding quilt.  The flying geese are 3D.
This is Jane's magnificent Seaside sampler which some of us have been sewing along with her.  Jane's quilt is due to be published as a block of the month in a British magazine in 2013 and also will be shown at some shows, we think.  Watch this space.  We are all chuffed to bits!
Wendy tried out several different arrangements for her star quilt  This is just one of them.

Blogger seems to have had some issues with my posts ie eating them, so trying again.........

The back of Chris's quilt

Chris's hexagons made over a fair period of time.  Chris is on the right.

As you can see, we need to grow a bit to show this off

Linda valiantly stretching up as far as she can
