Sian and the petals, Jane and the seminoles, Rosemary and the hearts and Wendy's gingham baby

Sian's baby quilt - really cheerful and bright :)

Don't forget your label........

Isn't this gorgeous?

lovely backing as well......

Jane's baby quilt

and the grown up version.......

Seminole piecing

Seminole piecing is I think one of the few techniques devised for a machine from the beginning.  The Seminole Indians in Florida's Everglades used this technique for clothing but it can be used on quilts, cushions, bags, belts.  It is a strip piecing technique whereby the pattern is gained by judicious cutting. Here is a tutorial http://sewwellmaide.com.au/2012/09/tutorial-seminole-piecing.html and  a you tube video showing one possibility https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEnTtX3sEnM

Rosemary is very good at these little quilts.  The quilting around the hearts really makes them puff up and gives a lovely design on the back as well

Wendy's completed ginham quilt - so pretty......

Squares, cushions, tiny hexies, experiments and bugs........

Janet made this for her daughter 770-odd squares....it will be quilted on her longarm

We all liked this one.....

I believe this may have a cat companion in the not too distant future

A simple idea which came alive with the red sashing and border

Jackie is going to use these as cornerstones for her big hexies - it will be a gorgeous quilt

Jane's new idea - Janet quilted a few lines and Jane is experimenting by filling the shapes with fabric

Sheila's bug quilt - so cute!

Lesley and the haircut; Jane's cushion cover

Lesley is a hairdresser and here she is giving a haircut to Jane's little crocheted creation....

Cute, eh?  thanks, Lesley!

Jane made a cushion cover.  We loved the closure...

the front

and the back undone so you can see the lining.

Hexies, hearts, stars and a bag......

A lovely cushion - might be Steph's?

Jackie's hexagons

Sarah's bag

Norma's star

Chris's starry top for one of her grandchildren

another memory lapse - can't remember whose this great hearts and squares quilt is - Janet, possibly?
