All of us

Me!

A very pleasant evening at a local curry house above the Forest of Bere Pub rounded off our year, more or less.  We have one meeting left before 2011 begins but there will probably only be four or five of us escapees.....

3rd.....

Steph has a new little girl, Abi, and this is her quilt.  I bet she loves it :)

This is where the flying geese went.  Libby's magnificent quilt made under the guidance of Patricia McLaughlin.  she still had a bit of work to do on it but isn't it just fabulous?  Quilt as you go, as well.  I am sure Patricia will be as proud of Libby as we are!

Jane holding up one side

Libby on the other

The back.  It was good fabric to show off the quilting designs - nearly finished

Wilma's attic windows

Christine's roosting robin - she had pinned her bias design into the corners ready to sew

A bad picture of Steph holding up mine - haven't got round to the bias yet - better get a move on.....

2nd lot of pics

What a lot of geese....next post will reveal what they belong to

Lesley's roosting robin.  The colours are very pretty in reality

The last round we did before she went away was hearts

Please note the use of machine embroidery - fab idea

Pauline's RR.  Here she is preparing her border using bias

And this is her corner showing the rectangles (as in border strips) and hearts

Dresden plate.  Wilma made hers by hand I think and Christine by machine. They use a very quick method and a paper or card template rather than a wedge ruler but the end result is the same

Breakaways pics

Jane made a doll for her aunt, to go with one made previously.  They are sent with a letter explaining who they are, what they are like (seemingly not very well behaved LOL).This is the front - he doesn't show up very well on the table.

Tried showing him against Chris's cardigan - easier to see him

And this is his back, showing his braces

I love the way Jane has suggested his face using stitch to sculpt and no colour

Jane and her old chap

Sorry...

Looked pretty and there was quite a lot of it for our neck of the woods

Our road

Birds on the roof of the house behind

View from my bedroom window - once I'd managed to prise it open

Monkey puzzle looking very christmassy

Sorry for the long absence.  Everything seemed to happen at once over the past month or so.  Snow turning up was fabulous in some ways but as everyone else was at home I didn't get any sewing done at all.
