August 2016

Janet's beautiful butterflies

Beautiful boxes follow.  Jackie's I think

Jackie's?

Janet's

Jane's quilt - simple and very effective!

Jane's block for a friend to add to....
Kim's Okehampton centre

Completed centre - isn't it lovely? (And very small!)

Norma started this, Kim finished it, Janet quilted it.  Sterling work from all three and a really beautiful quilt.  I think it was a block of the month from Village Fabrics

A glorious colour and print for the backing

July

Jane's quilt made from her husband's shirts, for him.  It looks wonderful.

Rosemary's.  She has matched the blues beautifully.  It's a very striking quilt.

Janet made an awful lot of these sampler blocks using both Lynne Edwards' sampler blooks.  Here are some of them

Another one of Jane's, a very graphic quality and looking great

Jane is hand quilting this, she can't use a hoop at the momen,t and is discovering the joys of quilting using pins or spray glue and no hoop.  I have a big hoop but I also tend to just use pins though I have always used more pins than Jane does - she lives dangerously lol

the following are Steph's workbox pictures - it has a rich quality about it and is another stunner

Steph also made a thread catcher with a dachshund for the weight.

Sian's country garden quilt layered, glued, pinned and ready to consider how to quilt it.  Several people helped Sian cut the wadding, layer everything up and spray and pin it - that's one of the nice things about a group of like-minded people.  It was a hot evening and the floor was nice and cool so another good reason to take shoes off.

We have had new grandchildren over the past couple of years - Rosemary and Elaine have grandsons and Linda and Sheila have a new granddaughter and grandson respectively.  More children to make for - lovely! And their arrival was celebrated by us with cake lol!
