Jane's secret etc.........

Quite often Jane makes things I cant publish yet, and this is one of them - read and ponder!

Wendy just doing the binding on this 2nd quilt for one of her sons - they are currently having to share the first one.....

Steph and Sarah went to a show in London with their children.  Two of the girls did some silk painting as above.  Aren't they fab?

Sian does quite a lot of commission quilts.  She spent quite a long time pondering colour choices, drawing out the block she wanted to use, sizes etc and gave us  a headache as we worked out the maths (no guarantees there, though, as we are all useless at it....) the fabrics came from http://www.higgsandhiggs.com/ who make up the most delicious combinations and I for one cannot to wait to see the results................

Kim's centre - she was wondering what to put in the middle - her sweater really brought the colours to life (though I doubt she will cut it up)

Kim does lovely work; I am looking forward to seeing which section she does next.....

Kim's Okehampton, Norma's Dresdens and others......

Kim is doing the middle of the quilt Okehampton by Karen Styles of Somerset Patchwork in Australia  Several of us have the pattern but only Kim and Chris have started.  I think there will be heavily edited versions in this group lol

Chris's - she has also done little hexagon flowers but has decided not to do as many as the pattern dictates

Norma has lots of these Dresden plates

She is quilting these quilt as you go as she does not feel able to handle a large quilt any more

 Dresden plates are named after the German city of Dresden, where very pretty porcelain was made.  Some of the blocks are made with the pointed blade, some with the rounded ones, with both as Norma has done and there are loads of variations - this blog post has some of them http://red-brolly.com/2015/03/quilt-trends-dresden-plates/

but this one I have entirely forgotten whose it is, so perhaps someone will remind me and I can put the correct name....

Sian did a glorious log cabin.  When she came round she brought it with her.  Every time I tried to photograph it the twins jumped all over it and Callum wrapped himself up in it.  So I gave up - this is Isla and the logs.........

 

This colourful one looks as though it is a Jane or a Janet, again perhaps someone will put me right

Sheila got these blocks from a shop further north to us.  They arent printed square so there was a bit of a discussion as to how to remedy this.  We will see what Sheila's decision is....

Jane's exhibition, Kim's choices, Janet's squares........

Well as you can see Jane is to have another exhibition at Dulverton (flyer below).  Dulverton is pretty, on the edge of Dartmoor, lovely place to visit and you can see this exhibition of Janes' textile paintings and Sue's photos.  They usually sell like hotcakes so get yourself down there as soon as possible.  Jane and Sue went to Iceland and these are fab...........

Kim's got to make choices for sashing.  We all thought the floor colour did a pretty good job, actually but I think she may be waiting for Malvern to get fabric.  This was, I think a German block of the month, off the 'net
